Dr. Sharon S. Meyer

Dr. Sharon S. Meyer received her B.S. (Cum Laude) at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge before leaving her home town to study on full scholarship at Tulane Medical School. She finished in the top third of her class and received her M.D. in 1986. She served her internship at Tulane Affiliated Hospitals, New Orleans. She completed a one year Fellowship in Clinical Dermatology Research before her residency at Tulane University School of Medicine.

Board certified Dr. Sharon S. Meyer lives in New Orleans with orthopedic surgeon, husband Dr. Richard Meyer and their three children. She has been in private practice for over fifteen years. She formed Uptown Dermatology and Aesthetics with Dr. John M. Yarborough in 2003.

Dr. Sharon S. Meyer is a Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Dermatology, Tulane University Medical School and continues her role of teacher and mentor as a Community Preceptor for Foundations in Medicine by having medical students 'shadow' her while she sees patients at her uptown New Orleans office.

When not working, Dr. Meyer has been 'Room Mother' and volunteer at her children's school, organizes meetings of the 'Journal Club', an all-female group of local dermatologists who study and present articles or cases of interest and discuss trends and innovations in clinical care. She is a competitive tennis player and plays for a New Orleans league.
