RX Tretinoin

Tretinoin (Protocol gel, RetinA, Renova) and Retinol are compounds that are classified as retinoids as they are chemical derivatives of Vitamin A. Retinoids have been studied extensively and are known for their ability to rejuvenate sun damaged skin. They do so by a number of mechanisms, the most important of which is building new collagen. They have also been shown in recent studies, to prevent the collagen breakdown that occurs in the skin following sun exposure. Retinoids are easy to incorporate into your skin care regimen but must be used properly in order to achieve maximal benefit and minimize adverse effects.
